Making sago from scratch

Sibialo shows us how to process the pulp from the middle of the sago palm tree into food. After all the juice is squeezed out of the pulp the water is drained off and a huge lump of pinkish floweris left that they cook or fry like rice cakes on the fire and eat with greens or coconut. The sago palm only grows in swampy areas so PNG is full of sego and it takes from 25 to 30 for the palm to bear fruit and be ready to harvest like this.
